This GIVING TUESDAY Join in our Peer Support Revival
The past few years have been isolating for all of us.
COVID took an enormous toll on our lives.
This is especially true for PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.
So, when the phone started ringing with requests for some type of peer support group,
we saw this as a call to action.
Peer support can . . .
- Help individuals feel less lonely, isolated or judged
- Reduce distress, depression, anxiety or fatigue
- Improve skills to cope with challenges
- Strengthen motivation to manage chronic conditions or stick to treatment plans
- Build a sense of empowerment, control or hope
- Deliver practical feedback about programs and support options
- Teach about health, economic or social resources
